We want to wish a very happy birthday to Upstate Golisano Children’s Hospital! Upstate was opened in 2009 making this year its eleventh birthday. In order to celebrate, I want to share with you a few facts about the hospital.

1. Upstate Golisano Children’s Hospital covers a 22 county area including parts of Pennsylvania and Vermont.

2. There are 71 pediatric beds at Upstate. There are 44 medical/surgical beds, 15 pediatric ICU beds, and 12 beds for hematology/oncology.

3. Upstate is the region’s only Level 1 Trauma and Burn center.

4. There is a brand new Golisano Center for Special Needs which provides care for children with physical and intellectual disabilities.
